Bobby began his career in animal welfare in 2012 and steadily advanced through the ranks at Person County Animal Services, serving as an Animal Control Officer, Animal Cruelty Investigator, Senior ACO, and ultimately Shelter Manager. He later pursued a new opportunity in South Carolina as Director of Animal Services for Calhoun County. In November 2021, Bobby returned to North Carolina and took on the role of Animal Control Supervisor for Carteret County.
While working full time, he completed extensive professional training and became a nationally certified Animal Control Officer through the National Animal Control Association. He is also a certified Animal Cruelty Investigator for canine, feline, and equine cases through the American Animal Cruelty Investigation School, certifications he earned during his tenure with Person County Animal Services.
Bobby strongly believes Animal Control Officers play a vital role in their communities and that the profession requires dedicated individuals committed to promoting public safety and animal welfare. He is passionate about community outreach and plans to expand public education efforts, including presentations that support and assist pet owners in need.
He is a proud father of two, shares his home with three dogs—Waffles, Pickles, and Remi—and a cat named Izzy, and is grateful for the support of his amazing wife.
