Clai is the Animal Enforcement Manager for Rowan County Animal Services and has been employed in this department since 1996. His goal was to bring more professionalism and training to his officers in Animal Enforcement to better serve the citizens of Rowan County. He is a firm believer that one cannot get enough training(especially regarding animal cruelty) and to make sure his officers receive as much training as offered throughout the year.
He has received numerous certificates/certifications earned throughout his career and in 1997, received the Susan Gloeckler Memorial Award presented by the Rowan County Humane Society for outstanding contributions to animal welfare, Rowan County Employee of the month for dedicated service and outstanding contributions to Rowan County in 2001 and the Ralph Ketner Productivity Award for the “Cleaning of County Shelter by State Inmates in 2000-2001.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the NCARCA since 1997 and has served two terms as Vice-President in previous years . He is honored to serve as your President and assist in enhancing the development of members through effective training.
Clai resides in Salisbury, NC with his wife Rhonda, son Seth and daughter Taylor. He also has 2 Great Pyrenees, a Siberian Husky and a Bischon mix as members of their family.
